I’m not receiving the verification code for my email address?

Because security — and especially yours — is something we truly care about, we’ve implemented a feature to verify the sender’s email address.

The goal is simple: to prevent anyone with bad intentions from sending files while pretending to use your email address. In other words, to stop identity theft, as we like to call it.

The process is just as simple: when you click the “Send” button, an email is automatically sent to the address you entered in the sender field.

This email contains a verification code — just copy and paste it into Smash. You don’t even need to click anything; the system validates the code automatically! And that’s it, your files are ready to be sent securely.


Don’t wait too long though, this small — but important — code is only valid for 60 minutes.

However, in some cases, you might not receive the email containing the precious verification code that allows you to send files with Smash. And that’s where things can get tricky. No code, no Smash.


What to do if you don’t receive the verification email?


We understand that when something doesn’t work, you want to find solutions — ideally the right one — as quickly as possible.

Here’s a list of steps to follow if you don’t receive the verification code:

  • Check that the email hasn’t landed in your spam or junk folder. Simple, but often effective.
  • Resend the email by clicking the “Resend” button on the Smash page.
  • Add our email address “noreply@fromsmash.com” to your contact list, then resend the email (see previous step).
  • Try sending again using a different sender email address on Smash.
  • Contact our technical team, who can help unlock the emails if needed.

The main reason this issue occurs is that some email providers mistakenly classify emails from our address “noreply@fromsmash.com” as spam. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control.


No verification code required for subscribers


Now for some good news — at least for some of you! If you’re a subscriber, you simply need to log in to your account, and you won’t be asked for a verification code when sending files.

For Smash Team subscribers, collaborators added as guests will still receive a verification code, whereas members won’t, since they must be logged in to send their files.
